Are you ready to SOW into who God created you to be?
GROW PLAN APPROACH
Often times, coaches/counselors focus on one aspect of a person (physical fitness, negative thought patterns, bad habits, poor self-image, etc…).
To attain true health & happiness, the body, soul and spirit must be brought into awareness, addressed and driven towards proper alignment.
Initial sessions are devoted to collaborating with clients and assessing each of these three areas, individually and comprehensively.
Rapport and relationship are essential to growth.
By offering a genuine, empathetic, non-judgmental approach, our clients are free to explore and address any issue they need to in order to grow.
Through a safe environment, our clients are able to express their true thoughts and feelings without guilt or shame.
We focus on a present and futuristic growth mindset of “moving past and learning from” rather than “staying stuck.”
We offer a GROW model that focuses on Goals, Reality, Options & Way Forward accountability plans.
We all have strengths and weaknesses.
We focus on a person’s strengths, resourcefulness and resilience rather than their weaknesses, failures and shortcomings.
You are so much more than your disability, diagnosis and/or life circumstance.
We do not take a “one size fits all” approach to therapy.
Every client is different. Every story is different. Every need is different.
Together, we examine the way you think, feel and choose and create a GROW Plan to move you forward.
Who are you?
Where are you going?
When you have a minute, treat yourself to this guided imagery exercise.
It will help you consider the direction you want to go in as you grow.
Guided Imagery Exercise:
Take a moment to settle your body and mind by inhaling deeply, breathing deeply into your belly and back, and then exhaling slowly. Allow the all the muscles in your body to release and relax. If needed, take a few more cleansing breaths.
Now, I invite you to look at the picture of the boat on this page. Imagine that you are sitting in this boat. What is that like for you? How do you feel sitting in this boat? Does it bring a sense of peace or distress, excitement or fear? Where are you going? Will you steer the boat straight ahead, or will you choose a different path? What’s it like to look at that mountain? Is the mountain too big, too small or just the right size for you? Do you feel safe in the boat? Look at the trees. Can you see what or who stands beneath the canopy? Are they things that help you or hurt you?
Take another deep cleansing breath. Release and relax.
Notice. Do you have oars in your boat, or you simply floating to your destination? If you do have oars, where are they taking you? How are you using them? Do the oars propel you towards your desired destination, or are you using them to steer in a different direction? If you don’t have oars, why not? Remember, this is your visualization. There is no right or wrong answer.
Is there anyone in the boat with you? If so, how did they get there? Are you happy about them being in the boat with you? Is the person heavy or light? Is it easy or hard to move forward in the boat?
Look around. Do you notice any leaks in the boat? If there are some, are they big or small? Will your boat make it to its destination? What about a storm? Will your boat make it through a storm? What would you do if a storm came your way? Would the waves overwhelm you, or would you be able to withstand the ride?
Take a deep breath, and relax and release. Now, allow yourself to relax into any space in the picture. You can be in the boat, on the mountain, in the trees, or on the shore. You can walk on the water, or fly in the sky. You can climb a tree or run through the woods. Take a moment to imagine yourself in the space that brings you the greatest joy. Close your eyes and use your senses to explore your world. Consider the things you may taste, smell, hear, see and touch. Breath in every sensory experience you have of this picture. Embed the image and the memory into your mind. Attach the feelings you have to this memory and store it away in a special place. Now that you will be able to come back to this memory at any time.
